Quick update: A water line broke in Cork City because it froze, so we have been without water since last night. They said the water should be back on by tonight, so we'll see. Classes were held as normal today, though many people couldn't get into the city because of the icy and salt-less roads, including one of my professors.
A few friends and I were going to take the bus to Blarney on Saturday, but the snow wreaked havoc on our plans... hopefully the weather will be better this weekend so I'll have a few more photos to share.
Take showers, wash clothes, and drink some water for me!

Hi Melanie,
ReplyDeleteSorry for this random comment. My mom- Donna Berg, she must work at South Point with you- sent me a link to your page. She said i should just get in touch with you to see how you are or if you need anything...
I shall explain. My name is Jenny Ó Buachalla (Berg) and I live in Dublin ireland. I actually did a full year abroad in Cork in 2004-5 and met my husband there, hence the big move to Ireland. Anyways, just wanted to offer you a place to stay free of charge if you are ever in Dublin again. Also any advice that you may want comes free too. Padraig is Irish and i have now lived here for four years so we kow a bit and would be happy to share any info you might want.
Also, as note of un, I actually lived in Leeside apartments when i was in Cork as well!. i am sure that you have discovered that the pub across the way (The Franciscan Well) is the greatest place ever, if not check it out!
Let me know if you and your friends are ever around Dublin, would love to meet you and offer you a bed!
Jenny
